Capacity Building Manager for Asia-based nonprofit organizations
Dedicated Capacity Building Manager for Asia-based nonprofit organizations
This job is an opportunity to do very meaningful work in the area of clean energy, working directly with visionary foundations, innovative nonprofits and talented consultants, bringing them together in creative ways, so that humanity can find better solutions quicker.
Nonprofit Builder provides capacity building services to nonprofits, which includes areas like strategy development, communications, leadership development, team building, fundraising, and financial management.
We believe that capacity building can help a nonprofit become more effective, impactful and sustainable. So we want to make capacity building more available, taking away the hindrances, so more nonprofits can benefit.
Our clients are philanthropic foundations, who want to support the capacity development of their grantees. We manage the whole capacity building process for them. We work with a global and diverse group of about 400+ consultants that we have sourced through our network. We talk to the grantees to understand their needs, then connect them with the consultants, contract and pay the consultants, and make sure it all goes well and the grantees get a good result.
We have an increasing number of work in Asia, in particular from foundations who are working against climate change, such as Growald Climate Fund and Tara Climate Foundation.
Your mission:
- To accompany the grantees on their capacity building journey. This means to welcome them, interview them about needs and priorities, match them with consultants, review the consultant work-plans and send them for approval, check in with grantees and consultants to make sure all is going well, evaluate grantee satisfaction and impact, collect and send invoice for payment.
- To source consultants from your region, to interview them, welcome them and help them write up their profiles, match them, see how they perform in their first assignments.
The outcome of your work is that the reputation of the Nonprofit Builder grows in Asia, so that we can attract more foundations, more consultants, and do more work with grantees, and hire more colleagues to work with you.
We are looking for candidates from Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, Phillipines, Indonesia, Korea... it doesn't really matter, as you will work online. What is important is that:
- You are motivated to work for social or environmental causes
- You love organisational development, leadership development
- You are hardworking and have a very strong commitment to quality and excellence
- You like working with people, communicating, mediating
What is important to our foundations is that their grantees have a dedicated person to work with them, who knows their needs intimately, who strives to find the best solutions possible for them, who takes joy and satisfaction from their progress and success. You should be that person.
The work will be part-time in the initial months, and increase gradually, as we'll introduce you to a few grantees, then a few more as you build your skills, until you are fully employed.
In the beginning you will work in close tandem with our Capacity Building Lead and the Support Team, but then to take confidence and work autonomously in direct contact with the foundation programme officers and their grantees and the consultants.
If this is you, reply to both Anna and myself at anna@nonprofitbuilder.org and daniel@nonprofitbuilder.org with a letter of motivation (important!) and a link to your Linked In profile.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Many thanks,
Anna Kondratyuk, Daniel D'Esposito
