Coaching

"All great athletes have a coach. So why not nonprofit leaders?" Indeed, a coach can help emerging and experienced leaders to improve their skills, gain confidence, navigate challenges, and continually improve!

What is coaching? It is a professional relationship where a trained coach works with an individual or a group to help them achieve specific personal or professional goals. The coach assists the client in identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations, and then provides guidance, support, and tools to help them make progress and reach their objectives.

Coaches use various techniques, methodologies, and communication skills to facilitate the client's self-discovery, learning, and growth. They may ask thought-provoking questions, provide feedback, set actionable goals, and hold clients accountable for their progress. Coaching can cover a wide range of areas, including leadership development, career advancement, personal growth, communication skills, time management, and more.

The coaching process typically involves an initial assessment, goal setting, action planning, regular sessions, and ongoing evaluation of progress. Coaching is confidential, and neither Nonprofit Builder or your foundation will ask about the content of your discussions.

Next steps

A coaching package is typically between 8 and 10 sessions. If further sessions are needed, let us know, we can ask your funder to extend. And you can stop the coaching anytime you feel like, for whatever reason, this is also normal.

Coaching always starts with a matching call, and it's normal practice to talk with at least two coaches to see look for a great fit, if you are motivated to work together.

So:

  1. First, visit the coaches above, or from this page, and book a matching call with those who seem the best fit! (There is "Book a meeting button on each profile).
  2. Then, your chosen coach will send us a proposal for a coaching package, then we'll get it to your foundation to approve, then you can get started.
