About

Thinking strategically about the ways in which information is produced and shared - both internally and externally - is essential when trying to improve lives and create social change. After all, success in movement-building, norm-shifting, fundraising, or winning campaigns almost always hinges upon establishing trust and sharing knowledge through the effective distribution of information.

Building on my substantial experience as a communications director, I am quick to understand an organization’s challenges and highly qualified to provide outsider objectivity and expertise. Additionally, as a former award-winning journalist, I am a skilled storyteller and possess an advanced understanding of how the media works, which I am delighted to put to use in support of mission-driven initiatives.

I have significant experience working on the following topics:

  • Climate change mitigation and financing (4 years at Greenpeace International, followed by several consulting assignments)
  • Financial transparency and tax justice (3 years at the Financial Transparency Coalition)
  • Free speech and ending the spread of disinformation (extensive consulting with PEN America and Avaaz)
  • International human rights (communications director at the Center for Justice and Accountability, followed by consulting)
  • Women's Rights (a year-long World Bank project on women's financial inclusion in developing countries and several consulting projects on women's rights and climate change).
I offer training and project management support to help you reach and sway target audiences to achieve your goals. Here are some of the things I can help you with:
  • Branding
  • Communications for events (both virtual and in-person), including press conferences, retreats, launches, and summits
  • Designing a robust Theory of Change
  • Developing a Communications and/or Advocacy Strategy
  • Editorial calendars and quarterly plans
  • Internal communications optimization
  • Media outreach
  • Newsletter set-up and design
  • Social Media management
  • Storytelling
  • Videos, annual reports, website content, and reports

I look forward to working with you!
