My core expertise
There are two key elements to my core expertise: depth and breadth of compensation and benefits experience alongside my calm, collaborative working-style which ensures clients reach pragmatic, understandable and relevant solutions to support their organisation’s future plans.
I started my career in taxation and qualified as a Tax Advisor, specialising in UK employment taxation. I left to develop my career in Human Resources, starting in technical areas such as share plans, mobility and benefit tax planning and gradually moving towards broader compensation and benefits topics. I have managed a number of significant HR projects, especially around pay restructuring. Many of my later roles have been on a freelance and interim basis and I worked in the commercial sector, predominantly, most recently, in the telecoms and medical devices sector.
My service offering
I offer services in relation to:
- Compensationand Benefits including areas such as salary recommendations and salary structures, job evaluation/architecture, international mobility and provision of benefits.
- Project management demonstrated experience of delivering projects on time/on budget, particularly in environments of ambiguity and dissonance (e.g. especially around compensation re-structuring).
- Workshops & Training Previous experience as a university Visiting Lecturer teaching Human Resources Management MA students.
How clients will benefit
I provide a flexible approach to these topics and can support as works best and agreed at the beginning of the assignment. This can either be through working independently and providing the solution or I can guide and support throughout the process. Ultimately, I aim to ensure the outcome is what the organisation needs and I leave the lightest possible footprint.
My unique approach
I have focussed on compensation and benefits in my career, rather than broader Human Resources topics, as I enjoy the interplay between hard/factual numbers and data and the softer/less predictable elements such as employee communication.
I bring a calm, methodical and knowledgeable approach to my work.
I am based in Switzerland, as I wanted to experience life in a country other than the one I was born in, and understand German (upper intermediate).

- Exam passes - first time - leading to full membership (Chartered Institute of Taxation)
- Bachelor (Hons) in International Politics with Strategic Studies (University of Aberystwyth)
