About
Our Core Expertise
Since 2001, Fundraising Training Ltd has been sharing its expertise to build the skills and systems of NGOs and social innovations. We have become the global experts in the sustainable financing of changemakers. We are learning professionals as well as experienced fundraisers, specialising in high value fundraising: foundations, governments, wealthy individuals and companies. We work in every sector, but have a deep rooted understanding of the funding models of emerging organisations.
Our Unique Approach
We recognise that it is essential to secure a substantial non-returnable investment (such as a grant) to ignite your idea. This is where our expertise in grantseeking provides profound value. Over half of our team are based in emerging countries (such as Caroline in Zimbabwe, Veronica in Uganda and Faith in Kenya) – they understand the resource mobilization context of these locations – their solutions are rooted in these environments and not imported from countries with rich and complex economies. We only use techniques which are proven to work; and, where there is no evidence we will undertake our own research. Many of our investigations have completely altered the common understanding of how resource mobilisation actually works.
We run the world's largest programme of training courses in grantseeking - over fifty 90-minute online workshops. There are two programmes: the ‘Introduction to Grantseeking’ which contains seven of these learning pods. Anyone can sign up for as little as £59/$70 for a single workshop. The other programme is for more experienced practitioners: ‘The Skilled Grantseeker Programme’, covering every skill from: funder research, to proposal writing, to building relationships and resource mobilisation strategies. This programme contains 20 workshops grouped in five Clusters of four, with a place on a Cluster costing £199/$250.
We can also develop bespoke learning programmes for our clients and provide 121 mentoring, drawing upon our 20+ experienced Associates.
We also have unique approach to funder research which captures the connections within your sector in a dynamic social network map. These maps will help you to benchmark your fundraising performance alongside your peers, identify new funders and, importantly, reveal the connections you can follow to reach these funders.
Our Partners and Clients
We have extensive experience of supporting locally led organisations through our long-term partnerships with grant makers and networks, such as The Segal Family Foundation, the z, the Subak Accelerator, Climate2025 and Porticus Africa. In higher income countries, such as the UK, we have trained virtually every professional grantseeker you can find (including several examples of two generations in the same family). Our direct clients include the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Benchmarking Alliance, the Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health, the Legal and Human Rights Centre in Tanzania and the African Palliative Care Association.
Our Client Benefits
We can transform your fundraising destiny by enriching your confidence and enjoyment of applying new and proven techniques. We have saved organisations from bankruptcy, guided others towards 100% funding of their strategies, helped people to succeed with the world's most influential philanthropists. Our ideas will be a resource throughout your career. Many of our graduates are now global experts in fundraising and grantmaking, including senior people at UBS Optimus, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the KPMG Foundation.
