Our team is building hands-on visual design capacity through a new training led by Daniel Rugwiza of Kubara, covering design fundamentals with principles applied to NPB's visual identity. Daniel established NPB's brand kit in Canva and taught techniques for converting any design template into NPB's identity, alongside graphic design and video editing workflows focusing the conveying a clear message while maintaining brand consistency
What the Training Covers
1. Fundamentals of Graphic Design Principles Applied to NPB's Visual Identity
Grounding the team in core design principles — layout, color, typography, hierarchy — and how they translate specifically into NPB's brand.
2. Advanced Techniques for Creating Social Media Graphics Using NPB-Branded Templates
Practical, applied skills for producing polished, on-brand social content efficiently using our existing template library.
3. Video Editing Workflows Within Canva
A focused walkthrough of trimming, transitions, and text overlays, equipping the team to produce dynamic video content without needing a dedicated design specialist for every piece.
4. Best Practices for Maintaining Brand Consistency in All Visual Assets
Tying it together with practical guidance for keeping our visual identity unified across every asset the team creates, from social posts to training materials.
Looking Ahead
This training reflects something core to how NPB approaches capacity building — not just for the organizations we support, but for our own team as well. Investing in these skills means our team can tell NPB's story — and the stories of the partners and communities we work with — more clearly, consistently, and persuasively.
We're grateful to have Daniel's expertise guiding this work, and we're looking forward to seeing how it shapes the way NPB shows up visually in the months ahead.
