It was a risk for both the Nonprofit Builder team and me. Neither of us had experience in what we now were supposed to deal with. As the first employee to join, I had no clue what I would be doing and what my responsibilities would be. Being an anxious person I suddenly had one more thing to be anxious about.
To provide context, this was back in early 2022. As the war started, I moved from Ukraine to Poland with my son. I had just finished an international project and promised myself a two-week rest before jumping into the job search. I must have done something right, however, because I received Daniel’s suggestion to try working together—all without putting extreme effort into the search (we’ve met a couple of times earlier in Ukraine).
"You receive what you manifest" (another thing you should know about me) is the rule I live by.
This was both a support the Universe sent and a significant challenge. But we are given challenges because we are strong enough to deal with them. I plunged into it with passion and full commitment.
There were ups and downs, for sure. But if you would ask me for my list of NPB associations, they would be: healthy commitment, growth, scaling, impact and game-changing players, open-mindedness, flexibility, and honesty. Crucially, it's about attention and care to both yourself and our clients, where communication is paramount and kindness is non-negotiable. Many of these things are my default settings and are nonnegotiable therefore the place i work should embed them which is so with Nonprofit Builder. That’s not even mentioning brilliant people that joined the team later. They brought their own resilience and expertise, solidifying the foundation that was started by Anna and Daniel.
For me, the NPB experience is ultimately defined by this collective strength: a commitment to building capacity not just for our clients, but within each other, every single day. Today, as we scale and connect with brilliant game-changers globally, I look back and realize the greatest lesson: taking that leap was the ultimate act of manifesting strength. And now, with this incredible team, we are ready to build what’s next.
